I was raised going to a bible-believing, Christ-proclaiming church since around age 5. I did “accept Christ” at a young age, and think that I truly meant it to the extent that I could as a fourth grader. Middle school and high school were somewhat of a roller coaster in terms of spiritual growth. It wasn’t until college that I intentionally and fully turned my back on God. I embraced a lifestyle of partying, materialism, substance abuse, and promiscuity. It took falling to a very low place for me to finally respond to God’s pursuit, which I can see now had been there all along. The next year was one of growth and recovery. It’s hard to explain but it was at the end of this year, the summer of 2009, that everything changed for me – the external had been changing, but inside something huge and life-altering happened. These lyrics say it better than I can: “Someday she’ll trust Him and learn how to see Him; Someday He’ll call her and she will come running; and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and she’ll pray ‘I want to fall in love with you.'" (Jars of Clay, Love Song for a Savior). That has been my prayer and life-purpose since; to know and love Him more. He has answered me beyond what I could have ever asked or imagined. He has given me eyes that see, and a heart that feels and loves. He has used ALL THINGS for His glory, even those that the enemy meant for harm.
More About Me:
Some things that I enjoy: running, being active, nutrition, cooking, baking, food in general, reading, being creative, traveling, experiencing different cultures, hiking, coffee, meeting new people, playing games, music, and dancing. The list could actually go on. Most importantly, I enjoy all of these things best when done with the amazing family and friends that God has so abundantly gifted me with.
