The objective for the Certificate in Biblical Counseling Program is to lay a foundation which helps people use a biblical approach to address life’s common problems. You will learn when to help, how to help, and when to refer. One of the goals is for some of our graduates, after a successful screening process, to assist the ministries of The Chapel in a volunteer capacity as a lay counselor. Currently, The Chapel uses over 60 lay counselors who have been trained through the Biblical Counseling Institute to assist the counseling staff.
In the upcoming Spring 2019 Semester - Term C, we will be offering "Crisis Counseling," taught by Pastor David Drake. The course can be taken at two different times:
* Tuesday Evenings from 6pm-8pm begining on May 7 and ending on June 25
* Wednesday Mornings from 10am-12pm beginning on May 8 and ending on June 26
This class is designed to help you assist others who are going through some form of crisis, whether personal or relational. Some of the issues addressed include: grief, homosexuality, addictions, forgiveness and the restoration process, crisis kit for marriages in trouble, helping blended families, and utilizing counseling as discipleship.
These are elective classes that are available for anyone, inside or outside the Biblical Counseling Ministry who are interested in using tools to help minister to others within the body of Christ.
Sorry, there are no upcoming classes scheduled at this time. Please check back later.
