Security Standards

Your security is very important to us. We have taken the following steps in both the security of data that is transmitted across the internet and also the personal information that is stored in our databases.

We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to securely transfer your information across the internet to us. This technology encrypts the information you provide so it's nearly impossible for anyone else to read it. This technology is used whenever confidential information is transmitted. This process safeguards your session from intruders. The Web application also encrypts sensitive data that is stored in our database to conceal your personal identity. We will only store your account information if you choose to "save your account" on our server for convenience or scheduled contributions. This feature is entirely optional.

Authorization

Access to your profile first requires that you authenticate through our secure Sign In page. This is accomplished by entering your e-mail address and password. You have the ability to change your password through your profile. Please help us keep your information safe, protect your login information. Once signed in, you can edit or remove your credit card information, but your credit card information is never displayed on the page for your security. Please keep your password to your e-mail account as well as the password to the website secure, and separate from each other.

Please remember that The Chapel will never call or e-mail you and ask you for your login information.

Privacy

We use the state-of-the-art firewall protection which places safeguards between internet and local data storage. Additionally, every secure page on our Web site has been encrypted with an SSL Certificate using industry accepted protocol TLS 1.1 and 1.2. Older protocols deemed insecure by the Information Security community have been disabled for your protection and for PCI Compliance. Information disclosed on our Online Giving pages will not be shared with any other entities. We require your mailing address and contact information for the purpose of recording and reporting charitable giving tax reporting purposes.

Software & Browser Requirements

Our systems have been thoroughly tested on Microsoft Internet Explorer 10.0 and higher, Firefox 27.0 and higher, Chrome 30.0 and higher, and Safari 7.0 and higher on Windows and Mac OS X Operating Systems. As stated above, older protocols deemed insecure by the Information Security community have been disabled for your protection and for PCI Compliance. This results in older systems and browsers being incompatible with the secured sections of our site. If you have concerns whether your system is compatible using SSL Certificates or our websites, please contact us by using the Help button at the left side of the Online Giving pages. If you’d like to try switching or upgrading your browser for enhanced security, please visit browsehappy.com.

Once you are signed in, we use a small file called a "cookie" that is saved on your computer to work with the authentication. A cookie does not retrieve any data from your hard drive, carry computer viruses, or capture your e-mail address. Our Web site requires that you accept all cookies in order for the Web site features and security mechanisms to function fully. Once you terminate the browser application or "log off" our site, this session cookie will be deleted from your computer. Cookies must be enabled to ensure proper functionality.
