Discussion Questions

  1. Jesus prays for glory in the midst of death on a cross, what does this show us about how we should pray in the midst of a difficult or painful season?
  2. How does your prayer life reveal what you actually believe about God’s presence?
  3. Where do you currently feel vulnerable or even weak in your walk with Jesus, and how does this passage encourage you to trust God with that?
  4. Why is unity among believers so important to Jesus, what tends to divide us even most today? Especially in our spheres of influence?
  5. From this message we know that: God is with us, God is working with us, God is uniting us - which of these truths do you struggle to believe the most in your current season of life?
  6. To follow up on question 5, what practices can you implement this week to better believe these truths?

Action Step

  1. Pray with confidence - set aside intentional time each day to pray; not out of obligation but from the truth of knowing that the Father is with you. In your prayers be honest, specific, and expectant
  2. Surrender one area of struggle- Identify one area of current weakness, fear, or area of growth; pray through John 17:17
  3. Practically pursue unity - initiate a hard conversation, encourage another believer that you may see in passing on a Sunday morning, Forgive someone that you may find hard to love or forgive.
