Community Group Study Notes
-
Have someone in your group give a brief recap of Sunday’s message, highlighting the main Scripture passages and overall meaning of praying “Your Kingdom Come.”
-
What was one thing that God was showing you through the sermon? How has this sermon changed your intentions when praying “Your Kingdom Come”?
-
In what areas of your life are you now bowing your will to God’s? What kingdoms “must go” in light of this?
-
What is one action step that you will take in light of Sunday’s teaching and our conversation? How can we, as a group, help you do it?
-
Take time to pray together as a group.
As you determine an action step you can take in light of Sunday’s teaching, consider the following ideas:
-
Study a few passages of Scripture that describe what God’s will is for us (some places to start: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 and 5:18). Pray specifically to bow your will to God’s as you obey His Word.
-
Grab coffee with a community group member or trusted friend this week, and ask for honest feedback on areas of your life you may not be bending your will to God’s. Determine ways this friend can encourage you in the right path.
-
Journal as you pray each day this week. On Saturday, look back through your entries, and evaluate if your prayers are about pursuing your own will, or about bending your will to God’s.
