- Have someone in your group give a brief recap of Sunday’s message, highlighting the primary Scripture points and the main idea of the message.
- How did this message strengthen and/or correct your previous ideas about generosity? Was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you? Did you learn anything new about God or yourself this week?
- Read 1 Timothy 6:3-19. What stands out to you in these verses? Share your observations with the group.
- Read 1 Timothy 6:17 and Luke 12:13-21. Are there ways you are putting your hope in riches more than in God? If so, what changes can you make to set your hope and trust in God?
- Read 1 Timothy 6:18-19 and Matthew 6:19-21. How can you grow to “be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share?”
- Would you describe yourself as someone who is laying up treasures in heaven and the coming age, or are you laying up treasures on earth? How does the promise of eternity make you think differently about your possessions in the present?
- According to the sermon, how does Jesus embody generosity?
- What action step do you need to take in response to this week’s message? How can your group hold you accountable to this step?

This week, take some time to journal your reflections to the following questions:
- The Ownership Question: Do I really believe that all I have is God’s?
- The Lordship Question: Do I seek first the kingdom of God before my own kingdom?
- The Generosity Question: Do I cheerfully give as a reflection of who I am in Christ?
- The Provision Question: Do I really believe God is my provider?
- The Evidence Question: If my bank account and my possessions could talk, who would they say I serve?
- The Eternal Question: Do true, eternal riches in Jesus matter more to me than temporary ones?
