I grew up right here at The Chapel, and my parents modeled the life of Christ for me as they taught me the things of God. Both of my parents were (and still are) on staff at The Chapel, so I spent a lot of time at our church and attended every service. For that reason, I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't know that Jesus loved me and that He died for me. But even while I made a profession of faith at a young age, I took pride in being a good kid and self-righteousness settled in very early for me. It wasn't until I was 14 or 15 that God began to chip away at that self-conceit, which was also the time that I knew my life would be wasted if I did anything other than preach the Gospel. Going away to college at Liberty University deepened my faith and affirmed my pursuit of pastoral ministry. It was there that God softened some of the harsh edges as He continued to shape me into the image of Jesus. It also took me attending college in Virginia for me to hear God clearly that He wanted me to return back to Buffalo for a life of ministry. And I'm so glad that I listened.
More about me:
My wife, Gabe, and I were married in 2010. I'm so thankful to God for our story (it's a good one; you'll have to hear it sometime) and how He continues to expand our love for each other with passing years. Our daughter, Giavanna, was born in 2014 and she reminds us every day that God has been gracious to us. For me personally, I get a glimpse as a father of how our Father loves us, his children. It often leaves me speechless because I remember how imperfect my love is for my child; how much more so does God love us with His perfect love! It's crazy.
