Ministry Relief

What is Ministry Relief?

Ministers in crisis, or sensing that there are issues that need to be dealt with before they come to that place, often find that they have nowhere to turn when they are hurting and discouraged, fallen, or even wounded by the very people they seek to serve. They need a safe place to turn to – a place to be healed and restored – a place for hope and to be renewed. At The Chapel, we have a desire to see that ministers who find themselves in these situations have a place to turn to and engage in a process that will lead them into renewed hope.

What Signifies Ministry Relief?

We are local-church based

Recognizing that for most, ministers and their families are wounded in the local church setting; we believe there is no better place for healing and restoration than within the local church.

We are built on four outcomes

In addition to healing and dealing with the issues, we believe that renewal must take place in four key areas. The first is renewed intimacy with God. Second, we seek to help a person establish or reestablish relationships that are Christ-like. Third, we seek to examine all areas of life so that a person is operating in their true spiritual gifting. The fourth outcome is that the pastor and his family are renewed in such a way that they have a brand new way of sharing their grace story.

What does Sustaining Hope Offer?

Often people in ministry find themselves facing difficulties and struggles and they don’t know who to turn to. Because they are in ministry, they wonder who they can trust. If not addressed in the early stages, these struggles can lead to crisis situations that can necessitate leaders stepping down, being dismissed or at a minimum, becoming ineffective. Sustaining Hope is an opportunity to receive help in a confidential environment which can assist individuals in dealing with many issues including conflict situations, burn-out, pornography, depression and other areas. We offer this ministry to help leaders sort through these challenges and become more effective in serving our Lord and His Church.

What Does Renewed Hope Offer?

We begin with a complete and thorough assessment to determine what the needs are. During this evaluation, we will determine one of the following:

1. Weekly counseling (Skype or FaceTime is available for those whose distance might be a factor)

2. Two or three day intensives where the issues are dealt with in a clear directive manner.

3. Residential program – What this means is that if accepted, the minister and his family would move to the Renewed Hope area. Housing, utilities, and other basic family needs are provided for the family for an initial period of time (three months) to allow complete focus on the restoration process. During the next three months, a significant portion of these expenses would still be cared for through Renewed Hope, with the minister supplementing these needs through his own means of support. Every six months thereafter, the need to continue the healing process through Renewed Hope will be evaluated on an individual basis.
