Community Group Study Notes
- Have someone in your group give a brief recap of Sunday’s message, highlighting the primary Scripture points and the main idea of the message.
- How did this message strengthen and/or correct your previous ideas about this passage? Was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you? Did you learn anything new about God or yourself this week?
- Read Acts 2:1-36 as a group (break up each section between your group members to read). What stands out to you about this passage? Share your observations with the group.
- What Old Testament passages does Peter reference? What promises of God do we see fulfilled in Jesus?
- Read Acts 2:37-41 as a group. Have you personally come to a place of repentance and belief in Jesus? If not, what is holding you back? Talk to your group members about this, and see this as an opportunity to believe in Jesus.
- Read Acts 2:42-47 as a group. How does the fellowship of the early church challenge the way you see your fellowship with the body of Christ? Do you see church as an activity or an identity? If applicable, what changes should you make in your involvement with the local church?
- How does the truth that the Spirit dwells in you and empowers you provide hope as you think about being a witness for Christ? Who are 5 people in 2025 you can pray for and be a Spirit-empowered witness to?
- What action step do you need to take in response to this week’s message? How can your group hold you accountable to this step?
Action Step
- If you have never believed in Jesus, consider for yourself what it means to turn from your sins and believe in Jesus. Talk with your group leader about this.
- If you have never been baptized, but are interested, please sign up for our next Begin class. You can find info for upcoming classes at https://thechapel.churchcenter.com/registrations
- Take time each day this week to pray for 5 people in your life who don’t know Jesus. In addition, take some time to connect with them via text, phone, or get together with them in person. Consider a way you can be intentional with 1 of your 5 people.
