Community Group Discussion Questions & Daily Readings

We want to give you some practical help in living on mission. For practical tools on how to share the gospel and your grace story, and for encouragement to continue living on mission, watch these two videos:

In addition, if you spend your days in a public school as a parent, teacher, coach, bus driver, administrator, or support staff member, you're on mission right where you are, and we'd love to partner with you in prayer and in tangible ways. We shared this survey at the start of the school year, and it's not too late to fill it out:

Community Group Study Notes

Discussion Questions

  1. How would your perspective change if you viewed your workplace, school, neighborhood, and relationships as part of your missionary journey? Who has God already placed in your life that you could intentionally reach?

  2. Paul and his companions were actively traveling and looking for opportunities to share the gospel. What are some practical ways we can become more intentional about sharing our faith without making it feel forced or unnatural? What tends to keep us passive?

  3. In Acts 16:6–8, Paul and his companions were redirected from their original plans. Have you experienced a time when a plan did not work out as expected, but an unexpected opportunity came from it? How can we discern the Spirit’s leading while remaining faithful to Scripture and wise counsel?

  4. How does this passage challenge us to trust God when we do not understand why a door has closed or why an opportunity has not come? What does it look like to remain faithful while we wait?

  5. Lydia’s conversion impacted her household, and her hospitality helped support the spread of the gospel. What could it look like for God to use your relationships, resources, gifts, or home to reach one more person? What is one step you can take this week?

Action Step

  1. Identify one person in your everyday life whom you can intentionally love, serve, encourage, or engage in a spiritual conversation with this week. Pray for them by name and take a practical step toward them.

  2. Set aside time each day to pray, read Scripture, and ask God to help you recognize opportunities to live out and share the gospel. Be willing to adjust your plans when opportunities to love or serve someone arise.

  3. Invite someone to church, share how Jesus has changed your life, offer to pray with someone, or open your home to build a relationship. Focus on being faithful with the opportunity God gives you.
